configuring avgfree to work with the monitoring software
- Go to the Start Menu and Choose "All Programs."
- Then select "AVG Free Edition" and click on "AVG Free Control Center."
- Click on the button labeled E-mail Scanner.
- Once the Email-Scanner window opens click on the "Properties" button.
- Within the Personal E-mail Scanner Setup window, choose the "Servers" tab.
- In the area labeled "Email Server Proxy List," make sure the "POP3" option is selected.Then click the "Modify button."
- Make sure the "Connection" option is selected along the left. Then UNCHECK the option labled "Activate this server and use for sending/recieving e-mail."
- Click the okay button on each of the windows that were opened (Should be three times).
- Once the configuration is complete you may see a warning similar to the one below. This is just because you are not using AVG's email servers. You can ignore this message.
