1. Go to the Start Menu and click All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Security Center.
   
   


2. Verify the firewall is on by looking at the top line in the window labeled Firewall. If the firewall is not on then this is not why the machine cannot access the internet. Check for other firewalls running. If the firewall IS on then scroll to the bottom of the window and click on "Windows Firewall."
   
   


3. Select the "Exceptions Tab" along the top of the window that opened. Then click the "Add Program..." button.
   
   


4. Click the "Browse..." button.
   
   


5. Then navigate to the windows folder (Normally on the C: Drive). Once in the windows folder open the system32 folder.
   
   


6. Locate the file name "WMPROC" or "WMPROC.exe" and double click on it.
   
   


7. Once again click the "Browse..." button.


8. Then navigate to folder "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\pse7."
   
   
   
9. Locate the file name "rnappp7" or "rnappp7.exe" and double click on it.


10. Click the "OK" button.


11. Again click the "OK" button.
