Disclosure & Notice of Software Incompatibilities
 

The monitoring software is incompatible with certain anti-virus, firewall and spyware removal software programs. Some of these incompatibilities are easily resolved with a few configuration changes and others have no immediate solution. As we develop relationships with the various security manufacturers, we will update this guide. Before you purchase a Firewall, Anti-Spyware tool and/or Wireless Broadband access, please read about the software products referenced in this guide. For a list of RECOMMENDED software tools please refer to the recommended system and software configurations section of this site for a list of compatible products.

THE TECHNOLOGIES LISTED BELOW ARE KNOWN TO PRESENT PERFORMANCE ISSUES WITH THE MONITORING SOFTWARE AND THEREFORE SHOULD NOT BE UTILIZED. PERFORMANCE ISSUES CAN RANGE FROM NOT HAVING ANY INTERNET ACCESS TO INCESSANT MACHINE SHUT-DOWNS. PLEASE KNOW THAT IF YOUR INTERNET CONNECTION IS DISABLED YOU WILL NOT HAVE ACCESS TO OUR SUPPORT OFFERINGS. IF YOU HAVE ANY OF THE SOFTWARE APPLICATIONS INCLUDED IN THE LIST BELOW, PLEASE REMOVE ALL THE SOFTWARE PROGRAMS RELATED TO THESE PRODUCTS AND UTILIZE A RECOMMENDED PRODUCT INCLUDED IN THE Recommended System and Software Configurations section of this site.

Norton Internet Security (excluding versions prior to 2008 and Norton 360 version 2.0)*
Norton Internet Security / Norton 360 has serious and fatal compatibility issues with the monitoring software. It is highly recommended that this software be uninstalled and replaced with another product. Known issues with Norton’s Internet Security / Norton 360 include the machine not being able to shutdown without manually turning it off and Microsoft Hotmail and MSN Web Mail becoming inaccessible. If you have recently purchased a Norton product, you can go to Symantec Customer Support to request a refund. Please note this does not apply if the Norton product was pre installed on your computer. Trend Micro Products
Trend Micro has serious and fatal compatibility issues with the monitoring software. It is highly recommended that this software be uninstalled and replaced with another product. Known issues with Trend Micro include partial installations of the monitoring software blocking Internet access completely. This may require intensive intervention.

NetZero Internet
NetZero’s dialup service has serious and fatal compatibility issues with the monitoring software. Alternate Internet service providers should be evaluated, including PeoplePC and AOL. NetZero’s DSL service has NOT been evaluated. The monitoring software cannot fully install with NetZero’s dialup service causing the Internet to be completely blocked.&nsbp;

NOTE: THIS IS BY NO MEANS TO BE INTERPRETED AS A COMPREHENSIVE AND COMPLETE LIST. THIS LIST WILL BE UPDATED AS WE BECOME AWARE OF OTHER PRODUCTS THAT PRESENT INCOMAPITILITIES WITH THE MONITORING SOFTWARE. LIKEWISE PREVIOUSLY COMPATIBLE PROGRAMS THAT ARE NO LONGER COMPATIBILE DUE TO THE MANUFACTURER’S PROGRAMMATIC CHANGES WILL ALSO BE NOTED IN THIS LIST.
