configurations for windows vista operating systems
 
Windows Vista, the latest operating system from Microsoft, needs a few minor configuration changes before installing the monitoring software or running the diagnostic tests. Please follow the instructions below before installing. Please Note: Failure to do these steps in Windows Vista will cause the computer's Internet access to be disabled.
Instructions:
  1. Click the small circle containing the Windows logo in the bottom left-hand side of the screen.


  2. In the small box at the bottom (with the text "Start Search") type in the following (with no quotes) "msconfig". Then press enter.


  3. A small dialog may appear asking for permission to run this program. Click the "Continue" button.

  4. Select the "Tools" tab along the top of the window that opened. Scroll to the bottom and select the option labeled "Disable UAC". Then click the "Launch" button.


  5. A window will appear. Click the small "X" button at the top right corner of the window.

  6. Click the windows logo in the bottom left of the screen, and then click on the "Control Panel" option along the right side of the menu that opened.

  7. Locate the "Security" section and click on the link labeled "Check this computer's security status."


  8. Click the link on the left labeled "Change the way Security Center alerts me."


  9. Then click the option labeled "Don't notify me and don't display the icon."

  10. Reboot the computer
