Kelly Counseling and Consulting, LLC

A Family Practice

Kelly Counseling, established in 1991, is a family practice of doctoral and masters level psychologists & therapists. We are located in Glen Mills, PA. We believe that effective therapy is based on the relationship created between the client and therapist. Together, a therapeutic alliance is formed as the foundation of safety and wholeness. The partnership allows the client and therapist to explore problems that you are facing and to define strategies and tools that you can use to overcome them. Each client-therapist relationship is unique and we have a variety of clinical methods available to meet your needs. Since early 2020 we have been offering therapy services with an in-person or telehealth option.

Give us a call or email us to see how we can get started.

Our Services

  • Individual Therapy

When you choose individual therapy you embark on a journey of creating a therapeutic alliance between you and your therapist with the goal of defining, addressing and working through emotional stress and personal challenges. Therapy is a collaborative process built on openness, trust, understanding and hope. Therapy involves an ability to look inward, increase awareness of thought patterns and behaviors and a willingness to make changes to improve one’s sense of self. Learning to accept oneself wholly and completely can be a freeing and beautiful experience.

  • Family Therapy

There are times when a situation impacts some or all members of the family. Family therapy focuses on behaviors of family members and how they impact the family as a whole. Family therapy is an opportunity for each member of the family to express their feelings, identify unhealthy relationship patterns and improve communication patterns.

  • Couples Counseling

Relationships are wonderful and can also be challenging. Couples counseling is an opportunity to assess the status of your relationship, identify areas that may need some improvement and work to increase connection and communication. Couples counseling can also help address a crisis that may have created tension in the relationship.

  • Teletherapy

Teletherapy is a convenient option for clients who are unable to meet in person due to a variety of reasons. Teletherapy is provided using a secure HIPAA compliant platform, Simple Practice, which provides a video connection between the therapist and the client.

FAQs

    • Therapy begins with a conversation with your therapist.Prior to the first session you will be prompted to complete an intake form which will ask you to identify the reason you are seeking therapy. The first session is an opportunity for your therapist to use the information you shared and to learn more about you and what it is you hope to gain from therapy. Therapy can be short-term, addressing a specific issue, or long-term, delving deeper into more deep-seated issues that take some time to untangle and resolve. You and your therapist will discuss your progress along the way in an open dialogue to be sure you comfortable with the process and the progress you are making.
